The 2024 Freestyle and Greco season is upon us and we are excited about what is in store for Team Florida. It is our collective goal to send the best and brightest athletes and coaches our state has to offer, to represent Florida in their respective National events. 

For the better part of a decade, as a coach/team leader, I have been involved with F.A.W.A. There have been some significant changes to organization in that timeframe. I have never been more excited and enthused about the people involved in advancing Florida wrestling under the USAW banner. I have been very fortunate in that time frame and have been to many of these national level events as a member of Team Florida. These trips and types of experiences are unique to USA Wrestling and for decades have opened doors and helped pave the way for coaches and wrestlers to continue to pursue excellence in our great sport. FAWA is dedicated to providing as many of these opportunities as possible for the kids across our great state! in 2024, the F.A.W.A. Board of Directors approved an increase in the total national teams budget by almost 20% !! That is 4 consecutive years that the national teams budget has increased by more than 10%. That is your money hard at work, immediately going back into helping the kids!

Team Florida will send approximately 300 wrestlers and 75 Coaches to national events under the Team Florida banner. More than 60% of those athletes will go on a free or reduced price national team's trip. 

It is imperative that our wrestlers and coaches know how to qualify, register and participate in these USA wrestling sanctioned events. The more participation we have in FAWA/USAW events, the more money is budgeted towards our state teams. It is my hope and goal, that we will collectively continue to improve our product by encouraging honest feedback and facilitating the communication process. We've made transparency a part of the framework of operation, and because of that I believe the quality of our National teams as well as the approach to these qualifying events has improved every year. We cannot thank you enough for your continued support.

Our goal remains the same... We want to motivate and excite the great talent around our state, by offering the best experiences possible, all the while keeping the trips as affordable as possible.   As a coach, father and wrestling enthusiast, I will do all I can to help facilitate this effort.  We know with goals this big, they can only be achieved with the work of many hands.  We are blessed to live in a state with such great talent, minds and work ethic!
